MSE Associate Professor Mark Losego gave the Keynote at the 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Awards dinner. As an alumnus of the award, 3M invited Losego back to give the keynote address to the award winners on the evening of August 8th at the main 3M campus. Losego's talk entitled “How ’Not’ to Get Tenure”, provided musing on the tenure process and how different, less traditional pathways towards creative and impactful work can still lead to tenure — trying to reduce the “stress” of needing to “check all the boxes” that you *think* you need for tenure.
